Oil Pan Gasket Sealant

Oil Pan Gasket Sealant
Replacing the oil pan in the 93 and was wondering something. What type of sealant do I need to use on the pan(have gasket)? I heard something about silicone vs oil is bad and the diesel oil wrecks some other type of sealants. Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

My self i us weatherstrip adhesive spray to hold the gasket to the pan and then us mopar (eng)silicone, although i think any silicone would work just fine!
any way I us silicone in the corners (like were the timing cover and the pan meet) Has work grate for me many times!

If you bought Cummins OE gaskets you shouldn't need any sealant. You might have to tie the gasket to the pan with some thread to keep it from shifting around. I've done three, I've cleaned the surfaces really good with xylene or something like it and tightened down the pan in a criss cross pattern, no leaks so far.

I just installed a pan gasket on a non-dodge gaser yesterday.
We used a blue Felpro pan gasket. No adhesive needed and it came with 4 plastic pins you screwed into the bolt holes in the 4 corners. You snap the gasket onto the pins and then snap up the pan. It holds it all in place while you get all the bolts started. Then you unscrew the 4 plastic pins and install the remaining bolts. Worked great.
FelPro PermaDry Molded Rubber Gasket w/pins
You'd have to see if it's available for the 6bt though
