Oil leaking in Turbo area, and alternator 2004.5

Hey Guys, long time no post. Truck has been good until now. Long story short, my wife drives the Cummins as her daily driver, I am out of town on business. Wife calls yesterday check engine light on. Had her run the codes through the odometer and got a PO341 (camshaft position)...Told her to keep driving it. She then called last night and said she noticed a slight leak under the passenger side when she went to dinner. Had my Son pop the hood and he says he thinks it is oil on the alternator and around the turbo area. Truck has 112,000KM on it and has been babied by my wife..(shes a good women!) Sounds like the turbo is leaking to me. I told her to drive the spare Dodge until I get home. Any ideas what it could be? When I bought the truck I think it had the dodge 7 year warranty and Cummins 160,000km warranty. Any idea how long the warranty is?

Most likely coolant and not oil. Did he say it was black in color or red? Water pump or front crankshaft seal are the only two leaks I see most of the time. Good Luck

I assume it was not overheating...

What about the radiator cap & water level?

My wife said it was not overheating, however the weather has changed for the better recently. I will check levels when I get home on Wednesday...

Mine leaked at the hose to the Overflow Tank just under the radiator cap. I just trimmed a bit off and put a hoe clamp on it. Maybe the fan is blowing the coolant to the other side.

First thing I would look at is the water pump or if a hose has been rubbed thru. The fact that coolant is on both sides of the motor leads me to believe that either a hose is leaking, or the water pump is starting to let go and the coolant is leaking past the weep hole and getting blown around by the fan.

The kilometers are low for a water pump failure, but I have seen them around that number so it is very possible

Fixed...

Water pump was leaking badly. Coolant was down about halfway in the rad. Fairly obvious what the problem was when i got home and looked at it in person. Easiest water pump that I have ever changed. $78.00 (my cost) for a new unit. Thanks to all that replied. Maybe the frequent start and stop is hard on the water pump...the cummins "chirp" upon shut off is back.
