Oil leak

So here's the question. What is the part that is on the left side of the engine to the front that is between the power steering pump and the front cover? Its Aluminum in color and looking from underneath looks like a shaft running front to back ( small and short ). My truck started to use or loose oil after the first and only road trip this summer. I was a bit concerned and noticed more than normal oil under that part of the truck. I am now today noticing where I park it is leaving a few drips.
Is this the hydro boost and if not what is it? Will the leak get worse with time? How bad can it get and how hard and expensive is it to fix?
I know its alot of questions but its bugging me, I just started to trust my truck when something else breaks. I am getting tired of spending money on this truck every month.

That is the vacuum pump and if it is starting to leak you can get a reseal kit for a pretty reasonable price. It will probably get worse with time but is pretty easy to fix when you get time.

Thanks for the help, I looked and found some info. I guess the instructions come with the pump. I would like to take it to a shop somewhere because winter is coming and lying in my gravel driveway this time of year doesn't excite me much. If anyone has the instructions and has time to post it would be great. Thanks.
