oil filter question
I ordered a fleetguard filter from geno's. After ordering I realized there are two different ones for the 02 24 valve. I got the LF3959 and there is also an LF3894 which is a stratapore. What exactly is stratapore and am I all right to use the filter I got? Thanks

I've never heard of the 3959. Might be new eng (03 up). I use the 3894 on both of our trucks. The stratpore is a different kind of media versus the older 3453 (Don't remember the number for sure). They are a little better filter, but if you change the oil at less then 12K it won't be a major issue. I still change mine every 5K.

Here's the official text directly from Fleetguard:
StrataPore's™ benefits are:
Strength and durability
Less compromise of efficiency and life due to multi-layering
Organic contaminant tolerance
Lower filter restriction
The LF3959 is just a standard level, cellulose filter; the same thing you would get from the Chrysler parts counter. It's spec'd for 02's, but the LF3894 StrataPore is a better filter.
