Oil Drips from vent tube

Oil Drips from vent tube
I have noticed a few drips on the concrete underneath the vent tube from the drivers side of the truck. I was wondering if this is anything to be concerned about just changed my oil 1500 miles ago and just now noticed it. I did some searches on this but just found threads on smoke and massive amounts of oil for 2nd gens. I also read something about a filter in one of the threads and heard they got rid of it on our trucks. Also noticed there is some oily buildup at the bottom of the tube like its been doing it for a while just noticed a couple drops any help would be greatly appreciated, am I looking at problems of significance in the near future?

Mine drips a little after running pretty good. It has done it since new, I think it is to be expected and why it's there. If you get more than just a couple drips I would be more concerned. I am not an expert, but I think your fine.

Marking its territory
It is normal for a little to come out of the breather tube. If you are concerned about it marking its territory on your drive way, you can attach a small container to the tube, just remember to empty it when you change your oil.

no not worried at all but thanks for the info a load has been removed from my shoulders. I really appreciate the info. I heard that it does it more often with rotella than other oils, that's what I did the change with so I am happy it's nothing serious.

Once again I must have got the bad truck of the bunch....
Mine doesn't drip normal oil.
Is there a fix for mine? Could I shorten the tube or overfill the crankcase or something?
It really sucks having to drain 3 gallons of oil out every 8,000 miles when I could be doing only 2 or 2 1/2.....

Both my '98 (sold) and my '06 drip VERY SMALL amounts of oil from the vent tube. I've placed a bottle over each to keep my garage floor clean. I have never emptied the bottle on the '06 and there may be a tablespoon or so in it after 37K miles.

Mine doesn't really drip anything on the ground but I get a lot of blowby smell. I ran a hose out to the back of the cab but all that does is change it from me smelling it in front of the truck to me smelling it beside the truck. I'm going to switch oils from Rosmella and see if it gets any better. If not then I'm gonna run that tube to the back of the truck. Either that or add a catch bottle with some kind of a breather filter on it to cut down on the smell....

Mine didn't leak any until they replaced the injectors and didn't get the valve cover back on correctly. That caused it to blow about a quart of oil out and when they fixed the gasket on the valve cover. They had to fill it with some other type of synth. Now I have to do another oil change to clean out the bad oil and get my AMSOIL back in her.

I guess my truck is not normal as it does not drip oil out of the vent tube. What a bummer can I fix this by drilling some holes in something.I want my truck to be NORMAL and lose oil.
