Oil in coolant/no coolant in oil...

Hey guys, last night I discovered my truck had some oil underneath it and popped the hood and notice my coolant over flow is full of oil! Straight oil. Check the dipstick. No coolant in oil... At all.. My truck is a 98.5 24 valve with 160k on the miles. Had a head gasket and studs put in about 4 months ago. Also. It has a stock turbo hitting 51psi, quadzilla adrenaline, 150hp injectors, blue chip pump, and of course a fass 150.. No other mods other than 5" exhaust and clutch. I think it's the oil cooler.. But then again could be a head gasket. Also the truck does not have a thermostat in it. So it never gets very warm....

It is almost impossible to get oil in the coolant from a head gasket. I believe you are right suspecting the oil cooler. Oil pressure is more than coolant pressure so its pretty much a no brainer on the cooler. Fairly easy to change. It will take several flushes to clean the cooling system. Every morning after you get it going just skim the oil from the top of the radiator and coolant bottle. It will clean up. Dawn dish soap and water does a good job on flushing and cleaning up the cooling system.

Most definitely is possible for a HG to let oil into coolant and not the other way around, first hand experience here.

51psi on stock charger? That's not doing anything but creating heat and crazy drive pressures. Fairly confident you just blew through your fairly new HG

Yeah I know it's just hot air over 40psi. But I wasn't sure if that's what was doing it or not. This happened at night so I couldn't really see anything. I got to looking yesterday and noticed the belt had came off and the water pump wasn't working obviously. I don't believe it ever got hot though cause I'm good about watching it. I actually think it came off after the oil was speuing everywhere all over the belt by the coolant overflow and caused it to derail.. Still not sure. I'm tearing it down this weekend. I just hope I didn't warp the head or anything else. The truck seems to run just as before.
