Oil Change/EGR/Turbo
Went to dealer for free oil change, 1st one and a couple of other complaints and ask them to see if it needed a update flash. I was told the EGR was sooted up and would need to be cleaned. They also said the turbo needed cleaned. After an all day wait the turbo and EGR was cleaned and updated flash. They also did a regen on the dpf. I checked the turbo and they did drill and tap it. The truck only has 3900 miles on it and I've had the egr unplugged since 200 miles. I plugged it back in before I went in but CEL stayed on after plugging back in. They marked the EGR plug in a way that if I unplug it they will know it when I take it back in. Damned if I do and Damned if I don't. I don't do a lot of idleing and I don't baby it when I drive. I did notice on the way home with the egr plugged in that the fuel mileage was much better.
Should I leave it like it is or unplug again. I don't want to take a chance and mess up my warranty this soon.
Don't know about the 6.7, I like it but I don't.

My opinion: just leave it alone and drive it. You only have 4K miles, so you have plenty of warranty. Let Dodge worry about it until the warranty expires, then you'll have plenty of time for mods.
Sounds like you are lucky enough to have a knowledgable dealer if they were able to do all that in one day and were smart enough to mark your plug. They should be able to keep your truck on the road.

not so easy to "let dodge worry about it", when some of us have to make a living with these rigs! sure you can warranty it every few thousand miles, but that is just down time. i went with the "damned if i don't" school of thought. i went ahead and unplugged my egr. then just to make sure, i unbolted it and threw it in the attic (along side the egr cooler and entire crappy exhaust system). no need for the dealer to mark anything on my truck. none of my "missing" pieces will be put back in place for dodge's worthless warranty. my truck runs worlds better than it ever did with my warranty in place. you can mess up your so called warranty, or mess up your cummins by recirculating a **** load of soot back into it. i'll forgo the warranty for a truck that runs like a diesel should, and so i don't have to see the useless techs at the dealers around me. haven't been back since I fixed my truck.

Get yourself a code reader that allows you to turn off the CEL before you go into the dealer. Unplugging the EGR gives better fuel mileage and saves the turbo from being gummed up with the crud that the EGR throws back into the system. In what way did the dealer mark the plug? You may have to find another dealer in your area to take your truck in for servicing if the one you're going to now is going to be so "thorough" in marking the plug. Unplug that sucker and your rig will thank you for it for many years to come. Short of removing the EGR entirely (which will definitely void any warranty), this is the best way to see the benefits of operating without it's evildoing.

maybe I'm wrong, but isn't the only warranty affected the emissions warranty?
