oil for AFE proguard 7
I recently ordered an AFE intake kit proguard 7 and it didn't come with the filter oil, DUH, I have since ordered the filter oil but I already installed the kit. I was wondering if there was any difference in the oil for the AFE & a KNN since I can just go to the auto parts store and buy the oil for the KNN. Right now there is no oil on the filter which I know is not good but I'm not driving too much right now, just back and forth to work. The reason I'm asking is there is a camping fishing trip calling my name and I don't want to hit the road without the filter oiled.

I don't know about the proguard, but AFAIK all these filters are pre-oiled. They won't be soaked, but just oiled correctly. I've got my AFE refresh kits (filter cleaner plus oil) from wildcat.

OK thanks guys, I wasn't aware that the filter came preoiled, I called the place where I ordered it and they comfirmed. So with that, I'm heading to the hills for some camping and fishing

Sound like you have it covered. But I also read that the AFE oil is different than K&N oil. AFE claims their oil is completely compatable with all sensors. Supposedly, the K&N oil can cause problems with sensors on some vehicles.
