There isn't any damage that could occur, but why free up the exhaust to flow more air, if you are not going to allow more air in? Seems that the 4" exhaust would be un-needed, or at the very least, it's potintal un-realized.

y-knot,

just thinking about getting rid of the K&N and don't want to mess with my warranty. i have had issues with the ******* and after market stuff screwing with the warranty. i would like to have a free flowing air cleaner but don't like the idea of oil in the K&N and potential of oil on my turbo.

I used to see more dirt on the turbo with the stock airbox than I did with the (properly oiled) K&N.
Now I have a Scotty II. CooOOooOOooL Air

Yeah, I think the stock exhaust will handle up to 350hp when used with a high flow open filter. But if you are just after the sound and lil increase of power, then it wouldnt cause any problems with the stock filter..or none tha I know of.

Ok,I see. I use to run a K&N, but it does not seal very good around the outsides of the filter. I tryed a AMSOIL air filter and liked it much better. It has a nice tight seal and Flows as well or better then the K&N. The filter oil in the aerasol cans works great, or filter oil in a good spray bottle, You get a finer more even coverage. When you are out on warranty coverage, toss all of this in the garbage can, and get the AFE.
