nv5600 wont go into reverse
the only way to put the truck in reverse after being parked is to put it in 2nd gear and pop the clutch jsut a little to make the truck move just an inch or so then it will go right into reverse real easy. is it because of the short throw kit? or do you think replacing the fluid will help

You can select between the forward gears, just not reverse?
two possibillities, linkage or syncro
IMHO you must have shredded a syncro since linkages would effect more then just one gear. Not a terminal problem and can be ignored for a while if you don't mind the hassle. Drain the oil and see if there are any brass particles in it. If that's the case then your going to need to rebuild the tranny or live with it.

the BD short throw has been installed since i bought the truck used. i replced the clutch and master/slave cylinder back in july with a LUK clutch and ever since i replaced the clutch is when ive been noticing the problem going into reverse. im gonna change the fluid to Royal Purple Synchromax this weekend and i guess ill be looking for the shredded synchro. every now and then i have a little difficulty going into second when starting off from a stop, but its not all the time. also i notice that when in any gear there is ALOT of play in the shifter. i can wiggle the shifter about a 1/2" to 3/4" in any directions while its in a gear. this may be the linkage as you say. i guess ill deal with it for now until i can afford a tranny rebuild.

i just replaced my clutch a month or so ago and the shifter bolts that hold the shifter onto the trans worked themself loose. you might check those 4 bolts. that might be your problem.
