NV5600 overfill???
It's amazing what you can find here! Been reading comments about guys intentionally overfilling thier NV5600's. Never heard of such a thing. Can someone shed some light as to what's the rational behind this?

Supposedly, the rear most bearings are the last to recieve lube after take off. An extra quart fills the case to a point where everything is lubed and this allows lubricant to saturate the entire gear train. This helps extend gear life and maintain better lubrication at speed and lower trans temp a little. Do a search on overfilling NV 5600 for more info. PS my lifetime gear oil made it about 57K. It was pretty dirty and my trans shifts a lot better now with the Synthetic Redline MTL.

What kurtaing mentioned is for the most part the reason why.
I've been running a full 6 quarts for years now and have had zero problems. The way I look at it is "oil is cheaper than transmissions"
