I was thinking of doing this conversion also, until I heard and seen how much a nv5600 is and how slow it shifts.

i have a 5600 and the the full conversion kit for 2nd gens. All you would need is the crossmember if you dont have a 98 or (I think someone said this once) turn your stock one around or smoething? Its all for sale and the 5600 is will be comming back from bluemanthauls. If you get me befor it comes back it might be able to get shipped right to you free if you get it shiped to a buisness with a dock or pick it up at the terminal

What ? I have both NV4500 and NV5600 and the 6 speed is sweet. That's the PERFECT transmission if you want to tow, spaced perfect for the Cummins.

Speed of shifting is same if not better than 4500

I did it. I used my oem crossmember but its a 98. I also used my bd short shifter from the 4500. They said no, but it was easy. Shifts great. I run amsoil, with two coolers, (I think I got them from Genos).

The whole swap was right at 3000 with driveshaft s etc. I sent my disc back to petter @ SB to change the hub. The OD is a tiny bit more also, so the top end is fun empty. I drive most guys right into the limiters.
