NV4500 Input shaft...?
Is there anyway to put a 1 & 3/8" input shaft in a NV4500 besides buying the billet input shaft from SBC or Haisley? Could you put one in from a NV5600 with a different retainer sleeve (??I think thats what it would be called??) ? I would like to get a dual disk here VERY soon and if I can avoid spending $750 on the billet than that is deffinately a good thing. Would the one from a NV5600 be stout enough? I don't really here of them being broken ever.... Thanks!

i see no reason you cant use a 56000 input shaft and bearing retainer in you 4500 but if i were you i would buy the billet shaft unless you can find a stock 5600 shaft cheap (there not from dodge) plus with the billet shaft you get a lot more strength the stock 5600 shaft will break trust me i have 2 in the garage the are sheared in half as for your clutch try this number 1(740)659-2072 or go to power parts engineering.com ask for terry he builds his own clutches if you dont mind waiting a while or maby not depends how busy he is he can build you what ever you want and he is alot cheaper the sbc for the clutch and the shaft or he can build you a dd clutch and use you stock 4500 shaft fyi i have a sbs 3850 dd 12 cb dd and i dont like it with a heavy trailer and the edge box on 5x5 i can run through the ckutch like water my buddy has on of terrys clutches and the same truck as me in every way except clutches and he cant slip his hope this helps stuckey
