howdy, on my 93 250 with the np 205 transfercase, i am having troubles with the transfercase it wont go into 2 wheel inless you ram it really quick, or if move the shifter slowly it wont go in 2 wheel at all and just grinds, my uncle put new hubs into it before i got it, would there be a problem like that if he never installed them correctly? and apparently he said it wont go into 4 hi? is there something i can do to get this to work? thanks Gregg

On automatics, it's sometimes almost impossible to get them not to grind going from nuetral to 2WD. I assume you have taken it out of gear, in gear it will grind no matter what you do. 2WD to 4WD should slip right in unless the front hubs are unlocked and you are moving at speed. The good news is I have been grinding those 205's at will for 20 years and it never hurt one of them.

correct me if I am wrong but to change transfercase dont you put transmission into netural first mine changes easy that way .

yeah i pout it in neutral all the time just a real pain to get popped into gear

what gear oil you running ? mine I believe is 80/90 wt

im not to sure what is in there at the moment becasue i got the truck from my uncle, bu ti will be driaining it out and putting the weight you say in, im all the way up in kitimat b.c like 6 hours from alaska
