Now thats more like it!!!
Just installed bully dog pup downloader software on my '05 CTD and WOW! I'm currently on performance mode and loving it. This also cures the OD/TOW mode lockout on my truck. Now I can push the tow button and it'll drop down into Drive like the 4.5's. Good work Bullydog! No codes, engine lites, or any other irregularities. Runs like a dream on the interstate, now I've got to get busy on air, exhaust, and gauges.

Yeah I liked the vid that John_R put up, saw he was using the pup to make all that smoke. Did a lot of reading and decided to try it myself. Truthfully the results are better than I imagined they would be. Mileage is up from 17 to 19 mpg, truck is a lot more responsive, and the transmission tow button now locks out OD like a '04. I can get the RPM's up more during normal driving. After flashing the truck it drve a little strange at first, I guess while it learned itself, but after a few miles it setteled in and performed very well. 100 miles later and no engine lights or thrown codes. Simple straightforward installation, no hidden surprises, I am a satisfied customer with this product.

You better hurry on the gauges part, it may take your breath away when you see what it is doing. Just my .02 worth
I had gauges ordered for delevery today (Fri), but supplier unable to ship out in time. Be installing them first of next week.

I don't know if perhaps my gauge is a bit slow, but a WOT run with 4hi launch and my egts never go over 1250. On the dyno using 30% brakes from start to finish, my egts didn't go over 1400 pre-turbo.

Is there something different about the 05 compared to the 4.5 with egt's. I'm interested in hearing what your egt's were before you used the downloader. I am on the fence now with a box or a downloader. I need something that will not run too hot. I can EASILY hit 1250 driving empty on the highway. I see 1250 getting on the highway. That is with the airbox drilled out, and the muffler removed. I saw no reduction when I took off the muffler.

BPD239, with stock programming and 35" tires, it hits about 1,000 getting on the highway. I really don't pay attention to egt's unless it's time to shut down the engine, or I see it over halfway on the gauge.

Does the Bully Dog increase fuel pressure or increase injection duration to get more power? I'm worried about increased rail pressure leading to problems.

wetspirit - My outlook monitor - shows a max rail pressure of 24000 psi with the pup on 130 stacked with a stage 1 predator. normal 60 mph 17000 psi. Everthing else on the outlook reads the same as my other gauges, so it looks accurate.
