at what point (psi) will the computer defuel the truck, anyone know?

on my 2nd gen my wastgate was set at 26 psi so it would defuel after that with no boost fooler,i dont know what the 3rd gens wastgate is set at,ive read 29psi but that may be wrong, but im sure if you see over 30ish with the puck it may defuell, you will feel it though.

Boost fooler

I am not sure but i thought that 03's did not need a boost fooler, only 04.5 and newer.

well I am not sure either, basically why I asked the experts!

but I went home at lunch time and installed the puck. it was so easy and only took about 3 mins. to do. man what a difference it made in the driveablility of the truck. took it on a test run really quick before i had to get back to work. I was rolling along about 55-60 mph and laid into it hard, she kick down a gear and took off. ran it up to about 75mph and the boost hit 35psi. truck has much more low range power than before and I am very happy with the performance it provides for the price. you just cant beat it when your not wanting to completely BOMB your truck.

When it sets a code for boost(map) to high it will defuel.Do you have the Diablo downloader? Or just the Puck? The Puck is pressure only and will work fine forever, but having something that does duration and timing will be where you get some mileage. Strongly recommend a Billet Flexplate, trust me on that one!

Very weak point in the auto's. Just a friendly reminder, as they like to break when these trucks are turned up.

yea I think we all know about the auto tranny's in these things. dont plan on putting big power down. just wanted a little something extra. thanks again for the heads up

update: last night I got to play around with it a little bit. the boost got up to 38psi at one point. I never thought it would get that high without the fooler

No boost fooler needed for 03-04.5s they are manually wastegated. In 05 is when they started adding electronic wastegates to the turbos.

You would have nowhere to plug it in at the boost fooler such as the one quadzilla sales will not have anywhere to plug into on your truck b/c it is manual actuated wastegate. Now if it where a 05 or newere then all you would do would be to plug it inline in the wiring harnes going to the turbo wastegate. If you want to elimate the overboost code you will throw then get a box that does boost fooling and get rid of the puck sorry to say it.

Not an expert on the issue, but my understanding was that when the map sensor read overboost, the ecm would defuel (on mechanical wastegates) in addition to the wastegate opening. On the electronic versions, it would just open the wastegate.

Maybe I didn't write that correctly-- it seems to me the same thing happens, it just happens in a different way (mechanical vs electrical)
