i noticed something wierd
i noticed something wierd while changing my fuel filter on my truck last weekend.
the small steel line (i think 5/16" that runs from my injection pump to the lift pump has a splice in it. it looks like the line was cut in two then patched back together with a short, maybe 2" long, piece of rubber hose, and ss clamps.
i cant think of why its there.
i wish i wouldnt have seen that.sure makes me think bad thoughts. :-
edit: will straight piping my truck void my warranty? i didnt worry about this on my other truck, it didnt have one.

From Fritz's TSB site:
Models: Dodge Diesel BR/BE 1998 built before 04/29/98 (MDH 0429XX)
Problem:
Chrysler is recalling about 25,000 were built with defective low pressure fuel tubes. The low pressure fuel line may fracture and leak. Notices have been sent by CC to owners and dealers to check unsold stock.
This is the line from the top of the fuel filter to the side of the injection pump
