Not sure if there is any interest in a December GTG, just thought I would throw the question out.
And I know you guys are wondering what to get me for Christmas and a GTG would be the best place to give me my presents, so here is the list:
1) Maker's Mark
2) Jack Daniels Single Barrel
3) Crown Royal
4) SBC CON-OFE

I don't know if anybody is serious and wants to have a GTG this month or not. If you do, my place is open and available. If not, that is cool too. I am just saying it is available if we collectively want to do it.
Maybe we could meet at Texas Roadhouse (or pick another place) for lunch on a Saturday and then come back to my house for some light "wrenching" before dark if anybody has any projects to do. They mowed the field behind my house if we need some extra parking room.
..
Works for me! 8th is better than 15th, IMO....but I can make either!

Yes and No. When I was suggesting it I kinda figured we would just have lunch and then come back to my house until darkish (or a little after) and call it a meet. But I don't want anybody to rush off. So if somebody needs to stay the night, that is ok. Also, my son will be with me this weekend. Unfortunately though, I have to work on Sundays now.

For those of you that are making your first trip to The Ranch, here are a few pointers/info.
* No indoor plumbing
* No indoor shelter
* If you want to eat and drink, be sure to bring it with you.
* It is probably going to be cold at night and cool during the day. Come prepared...... bedding, clothing, etc.
* If you plan on drinking anything stronger than Mountain Dew, don't plan on driving.
* I have a floor jack, jack stands, air compressor and some tools. Anything beyond that, you will need to bring it.
Any questions or for directions, PM me.

Check out the new addition to the sig!! I'll be there tomorrow in one or the other... Have both down in FF right now. The mileage that thing makes makes it tough to drive the truck all the way up there for a day!!
Bought the car down in Houston. Filled the car dove to FF (75-90mph) and just had to top the car off... used $8 in fuel!!! 54.8MPG hand calc!! was AWESOME!!!!
Not a Cummins or a dodge, but still a diesel! with a VE style injection pump at that! lol :D My $600-$700 a month fuel bills were breaking me! Sold my trail truck to make the down payment... If I keep my current mileage/year this little car will save me $3500-$4000/year! Big deal for a college student!
Whichever vehicle I show up with I'll have my adrenaline for RowJ to try and some Opti-Lube for Fade94...
If I end up taking the car if somebody needs electrical stuff post up so I throw it in!

I need to get me something to run around in too! 54mpg sounds nice. But, I hate getting in those little squad cars already...because of the size. I feel safer in trucks!
A while back I saw a lady die after a crash......she got hit in the PASSENGER side door of her Toyota Corrolla while driving (in the driver side obviously) ...TBoned by a Durango. Can't help but think she would have lived had she been in one of our trucks. Size matters![laugh]

Speaking of death. I have been training a rookie the past 4 weeks or so. So I have been extremely busy at work taking all the hard/difficult calls.
We went to the stabbing domestic murder of a L/F by hubby...in front of their 2 year old. We arrested him and he was saying what a relief it was that he did what he did. (Bipolar)
Last Sunday a call involved the suicide of a 18 yo kid...put a .45 to his head right above his right ear. His dad found him...(Garland Firefighter) and his mother (Garland Homicide Detective) was on scene too.
Couple of nights ago...worked a kidnapping/abduction/rape at knife point.
Been to jail numerous times for various other things. Been to the psych ward 3 different times with some other fruit cakes.......one of which thought it was a funny joke to spray his 75 yo female neighbor with a fire extenguisher right in the face.

'School Bus' - Thanks for the HTS Demo! When that thing shift it feels just like Brian shifting through the gears at the track... a real head snapper!
Sorry I had to leave Sat night... hurt my back playing under the hood in the afternoon. It's been so good lately I didn't bring my pills so had to get home for relief. Pain made me stupid.... I forgot to put the Smarty back to stock (after fixing the wiring on the Adrenaline).
Drove home with Smarty on #7 and Quad Box on #2! :( Can you say "TOO MUCH TIMING", boys & girls? All the way home I was thinking...I don't remember the surging on the Quad Box being this noticable. [duhhh]
Thanks to our president for making 'The Ranch' available. With all you have going on lately, Charlie, it was very gracious of you! Hope we helped by taking your mind off your family problems .... for a while! And it's just not a DTR#8 get-together without an oil fire. :D
Thanks also, to Brian, for figuring out my electrical problem! I was surprised how much I missed the Adrenaline Box!
Happy Holidays to all... may your CTD 'wish list' be completely eliminated. :)

Great seeing everyone again as well as the new guys. I really need to stop bringing my boys to these things. Took the youngest to the dyno day in Lewisville, he still talks about what he wants HIS CTD to do when he gets one. He's 14 now.
Took the oldest to the ranch Sat. My wallet starts to burn every time he sees one of the BOMBED trucks. I still haven't heard the end of how much he likes the BigRed BCS truck...
I swear, I think I just may have my hands full and wallet empty with two boys that are into hot rod trucks. [duhhh][laugh]:o

Sure! Been bugging Rob for over a yr for 'user reports' on his Garmin GPS/NAV unit. Everytime I decide to buy a cheap one, he points out all the features I'll be missing by not getting fancier model .... and I hold off till I have some more free cash. Finally decided on the biggest & baddest Garmin, without Bluetooth; so actually a middle priced unit. Garmin nuvi 650! If interested, see HERE (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134)
Was about to order on line through Walmart when.....
Yesterday at 6am was in local store. They had 10 of these on a Christmas Special for $399.00.... got the last one! Retail is almost $600.00, but Garmins retail prices are always high (to protect from compeating w/ dealers, I imagine).

Just to bring this TTT, I thought I'd try my hand at a Christmas Poem!
Was the night before Christmas, Santa felt less than gay.
He needed more power to handle his sleigh.
So many toys and places to go....
"As the Reindeer get older, we just seem too slow."
All over the world, and just in one night...
"Can't see how to do it, time just seems to tight!"
Then an idea occurred to this crafty old man...
A nice diesel engine would aid in his plan.
"With reindeer in front, and a Cummins in back.....
Every child on earth, gets a toy from my sack!"
So, preserved was the legend, AND later that night.....
As he zoomed over rooftops, and flew out of sight.
He was heard to have said, to one and to all....
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ................. There is another thread on exactly the same topic... a newbie asking when everyone plugs in. Page one established Cummins recommends 40* & below because friction goes up exponentally below that temp. The rest of the pages are everyone chiming in with when they plug in.... even after learning why they should do so at 40*???

Anyone interested.... I burned out one of my Sylvania Silver Star bulbs. Found the newer Silver Star ULTRA bulbs at O'Reilys.
I have asked on here before if the Ultras were brighter...or just a new marketing name for Silver Star bulbs?
Never got a definative answer. So I took a chance and tried one!
I found them....
-Maybe 10% brighter.... alot brighter than my old stock bulb I had to use for 3 days over x-mass.
-More important.... no more 'black holes' in the light pattern, Much more even lighting.
I liked it enough, I went back and got a second one for the side that did not burn out. They are $4-5.00 more than the Silver Stars.

Thanks, Dan ..........but no thanks!
Decided I'm too young to turn 60. I may look it..... my body certainly feels it..... but my brain is stuck around 40 something!

Not sure....can't remember.:)

Looking into it! You have one?
Other option is to just add a relay or two for power direct from battery! I have no over heating switch issues, but the heavier harness is suppose to be brighter! Relay should do same ($5.00-10.00)...I think?
Brian thinks Justin did this mod. Justin??? Where are you??
Good project for the get together.... 12th is good by me!

I did the replacement harness when I put in my Sport headlights. Power directly off the batteries, triggered by the original headlight plug. The combo of sport lights and new harness was a HUGE increase in lighting.

I might be in :)
Someone is trying to twist my arm to go ATV'ing at a new place that weekend though. It is a mud place, and I'm not in a mudding mood.
Hope my clutch is broken in by then, it's hard to put 500 miles of driving on it when you only commute 11 miles round trip :)
~Rob
Rob - Bring them down to Fairfield! That will put some miles on the clutch and I would like to try that Polaris....if the offer still holds. :)
I ordered extra relays so if they work (make headlights brighter) got a set you can have. Your the EE....... think they will work?

RJ,
Sure they'll work :)
If I come it will just be me and the truck, not going to hook up the trailer and quads. But the offer stills stands.
I also owe you and Charlie some GPS answers. I am only working until 1 today, so I will get on it when I get home.

As it has been since Oct. 11th, my schedule is not my own. I am suppose to close on my Mom's house in Sherman on Friday and meet with a guy to complete her Medicaid paperwork on Saturday or Sunday in Round Rock. If all goes well, I'll be coming down to Fairfield on Saturday on my way to RR. I can't stay long, but hopefully, I'll get to see everyone for a little while.
Also, if you know of anyone that might be interested in the Starcraft camper, let me know before in put it on Craigslist.

Only on our own products. Our Spectrometer is set up to only read our additives and base oils.
