Nokya H13 headlights!

http://www.racinglab.com/noarwhprohah4.html
Does anyone have any experience with these? Says they aren't DOT, why? What about the Arctic White's?
Am looking for replacement bulbs for my 06 CTD, and don't have much luck finding a aftermarket H13, other than Silverstars, which I understand suck!! Thanks!!

Looks like the Artic white is not DOT but the standard Hyper White is. The non DOT probably has something to do with the "Color" of white it gives off. Or it is some kind of CYA thing for themselfs.

EDIT: That site is confusing. Shows a picture of the Artic White but has a description for the Hyper White which says not DOT. And it says nothing about the Artic white for DOT approval.

Yeah, I noticed that, and emailed them to inquire about it. Will post reply if I get one!

" The H13 is quite possibly the stupidest design for a bulb ever foisted on the public. The terminals are so small that they overheat, even at stock wattages, and melt the plastic housing of the connectors. Higher than stock wattage bulbs are offered, but not recommended and we accept no responsibility for their use."

but they do have them...

Sinawalli, not trying to highjack ya but try adjusting your lights all the way down and work back up from there. I replaced mine with the Silver Star Ultra's and while they're not great, turning the adjusters made a huge difference.

silver stars don't last. i called sylvania after i replaced my second bulb in less than last than a year. they admitted to me-that the silver star bulbs last about one year!!!! i moved on to GE night hawks-a silver star equivalent. i have had them for two years now-no problems!!

Those Noykas last even less.
Got some off Ebay for $15 last March, replaced them in Sept.
They make the wiring harness get very warm.
Almost melted the socket, had to pry the bulb out.
I would be cautious.

That white light at dusk or dawn can barely be seen.
I adjusted mine also where the fogs blend more with the heads and made a world of difference on the stockers.

Just out of curiousity, the GE site has several listings for the 9007 buld.
Which is the right one for our trucks or does it matter??

whatever part number the owners manual called for- i used that number when i bought my ge night hawks at walmart. on the ge packaging it will say night hawk and have the same bulb number as our owners manual, but maybe with a ge prefix before or after the bulb number- it has been awhile since i bought mine.

Anything above 4300k will have a blueish tint to it.

You might also want to take a look as Osram Silverstars (different from Sylvania). They last a lot longer and are a brighter than stock.

Can someone please post some part numbers and a link to where we can buy (GE, Osram, etc)?

I've spent the last half hour searching all these threads with no luck.

Thanks!
