Noise in buddy's truck
I have a 2005 Dodge diesel long bed with a 4/10 differential and a 4 speed transmission. I hear a high pitch whining noise while driving down the road at any legal speed. It will do it while shifting through the gears or locked in any forward gear. It sounds just like a rear end noise.
The dealer tech and I took it for a test drive and he found that when you turn off the air conditioner the whining noise would stop. Back at the dealership he found the air conditioner to be okay and there was no noise heard while standing outside of the truck. Chrysler says the noise is transmitting from the heater box to the truck cabin and that is normal.
This does not sound right because the noise just started and I have almost 50K on the speedo. Does anyone out there have the same type problem?
