No O/D at full throttle
I have been doing some testing with my lastest combo and I have found out that I can't shift into overdrive with the converter locked at full throttle. Pretty sure its not the button because it works fine otherwise. I always used to be able to do this.
Any clues?

When the TPS is giving trouble it will hunt back and forth at higher speeds.
Best practice to make your tranny last longer and to avoid the hunting in and out of OD is to push the OD off button unless you are cruising over 55.

i had close to the same problem. i found in the haynes manual that the tps data "when relayed to the pcm...enabled the computer to determine 3-4 upshifts and 4-3 downshifts for transmission op".
it said to disco the tps connetor and check the voltage from the pcm. positive to purple/white and neg to black/light blue. the voltage should be 5v. then put the connector back on tps and check the voltage thru the tps. pierce the wire and hook the pos to the orange/dark blue and the neg to the black/light blue. the valve shut read about .5-1.5 volts. when you open the valve the voltage should change. full throttle should see 3.5-4.5 volts.
this worked for me. changed the tps and it shifts smooth. freekin thing cost me 200 buck tho.

hey jambii i seen you have 4.10 gears, Im tachin 1900rpms around 65mph with 285s on my truck now i just took my 40s off and it was differen't then. But i was curious when your truck was stock was this similar to what you were running? One thing i do hate is the gearing sucks for high end speeds its reving so **** high..
