No interior lights

I have checked all the fuses and they are all good. But the lights do not come on with the doors open and you can't turn the map lights on. Also the little light ring around the ignition does not glow any more. Secondly when you turn the headlamps on the radio does not dim, nor does the factory radio harness send power to the radio.
So I am thinking the harness under the dash is going bad in sections. Any ideas?

You missed a blown fuse. Buy a fuse checker from the autoparts that you can check fuses without removing them. They're under $10.
Sometimes you can miss a blown fuse just by looking.
Also don't forget the underhood fuse box.

I pulled the fuses out of the fuse box to check them one by one.

Check fuse #1 (50A) in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) under the hood. It is the common link to interior lights and the dimmer circuit.

naaaa, I have one of them with a bad circuit. My 97 has the same problem. The circuit goes to a fuse by the drivers door and then to a 50 amp fuse in the under hood box. Mine has lost continuenty between the fuses. I have not gotten around to it but will run a new wire between. I miss my inyterior lights. I have spent house diagnsing the problem. I can run a clip wire to the fuse from a hot point and all works well, so the wire is burned out or not making contact.

Bluedually, I had exactly the same symptoms, and it had blown fuse1 ( 50A) as fueling around posted. Replaced the fuse, been golden since, no idea why it popped, but it hasn't since.
