No Bus?
Help! Tonight driving home from work I stopped at a stop sign and the engine died. Would not restart. Fuel guage, and fuel pump wouldn't work. The Odometer was reading "NO BUS". I checked all of the connections I could see, also checked all relays and fuses. I jumped accross the fuel relay and it started but still said "NO BUS" and the fuel pump wasn't running. I was giving up on it pulled the jumper from the pump relay and everything came back on. Fired it up and got it home. MIL was on all the way home but the code 1693 Any ideas. TIA

P 1693 is the code telling you that there is a code.
Obviously, it is one of the few that don't show up in the odometer.
You'll need to have it scanned to find out what the real codes are.
Did you check the connections on the PCM?
There is also one that connects the whole dash array to the PCM, it is buried under the dash somewhere.
Ribbon connector, many wires.

I have my own DRB lll and I scanned the engine when it wasn't starting. No codes. When I was checking the connections under the hood I disconnected the EZ. When I got home I scanned it again I got the 1693 and also high boost code. I expected that because the boost fooler was disconnected and the elbow was still installed.
I am beginning to think it is the ignition switch. All the functions that work on accessory worked, but the ones on the run side didn't. Fuses were good.

Check the two harness plugs at the cowel where the engine harness connects to the body. I spent a couple days chasing a no charge condition and that was it on mine.

I have checked all of the connections I can find. Loosened and cleaned all grounds. The biggest problem I have no is that is running great and I can't find the problem. But I am a little gun shy.

I haven't done anything to the truck such as boxes or anything in a long time. But I just got back from the Bonneville Salt Flats where the truck got driven through a 12" lake for 4 miles. So I have been looking for corroded connections. All of the connections so far have looked clean.

If I understood you correctly
You removed a fuel pump jumper, and every thing came back on,if that is the case sounds to me like your problem is in the fuse box where the jumper was.e.g a relay not working properly or a connection under the fuse box.Work the wires around the fuse box while its running see if it quits.

Ok guys I found it.
Today i dropped my son off at school and it died. I was looking under the hood. Well it was in the cab. It was a loose & corroded fuse in the fuse box on the side of the dash. One of the ignition fuses was loose. When I hit it all sorts of things came on in the truck. Thanx for all of the help.
