no abs brakes

My brakes seem very week and i now know that i dont have abs. Because on ice at least both wheels on the drivers side will look up and drag. Also my abs light will come on when i first start my truck for about 20seconds and then it goes off so is it not sensing that the abs is not working? Any ideas

Many people would say that no ABS is a blessing.
When there is an ABS problem usually the ABS and parking brake light will come on and stay on, often even after the problem is corrected.
Makes me wonder if you really do have a problem.

Before you condemn, try on a surface with a little more traction. The self test mode after startup is normal. Light would not go out if sensed a problem with circuits. Ices offers such poor traction the system may be unable to unlock. JMHO

Yeah I am just gonna put them to the brake slam test tomorrow and see what happens although I dont know if they have enough braking power to actually lock up but I am gonna try it
