No 4 Wheel Low - At All

I recently perchased a 94 Cummins with the auto trans. I can not for hte life of me get it to shift into 4 Wheel Low. I can get it into neutral no problem, but then it all stops, i can feel it rub teeth, but it wont shift. ITs not that important, but something id like fixed.

Any ideas?

Mike

hi
have you tried it with the engine off ?

or while running ?

if you go to nutral in the transfur case you cant get back in gear with it running i believe , dont use mine too often.

so you should be able to go from 2 h to 4 h on the fly but stop for 4 low 1 thin ?

You're not supposed to stop in neutral with the shift lever. That'll just grind teeth in the transfer case. After 4H, move the lever to the right a little, then go straight down to 4L without stopping in neutral. You have to be stopped or going less than 3 mph when switching to 4L.
