Nittos or Toyos ???
Okay I have been wanting to buy some wheels and new tires for the truck. I know which wheels I want but can't make my mind up on tires. I would like some opinoins on the nittos (terra graps) or toyos (open counrty a/t) and why you think i should get one over the other.
I don't tow but still I would get the "E" rated tire.
I am lookin at 275/70/18, in both and can get both for the same price in that size.

They are 2 different companies. Niether related. Some parent company makes Nittos but Toyos are made by Toyo.

Im on my 2nd set of Nittos TGs and they dont wear all that well (not terrible IMO) but do deliver great wet and dry traction. One comes at the cost of the other. I got 20-something thousand miles on my first set then sold them with about 1/3 tread left. Then bought another set for my '04.

Toyos. Best overall quality, performance and life that I could find (in an MT at least) and mine were priced very similarly to the Nittos, as I did look at them as well. So far mine look great and perform very well.

well i havent had Toyo's but i have had Nittos. I would highly recomend that you stay away from Nittos. my set wore out with about 20 K on em. and my wet/dry pavement traction was pretty bad. they were 295/70/17 so there wasnt a lack of rubber on the road. i think Nittos are mostly for the trucks that dont get driven, or only driven to shows. i think you will be dissapointed with them.

I got 32,000 out of my Toyo's and just put a set of Nitto's on. My buddy has a little over 20,000 miles on his Nitto's and they aren't even at half tread yet.

I'm going to get at least 60k out of my 285/70/17 BFG ATs. I run 65psi and rotate every 7500 miles. They are great on-road and off-road(mostly aired-down in beach sand). I have had no problems towing our camper or hauling loads of firewood. Until someone comes out with an AT that beats that, I'm sticking with BFG ATs.
