nitrous users?

I am a 1st gen guy but had no response in my forum. I think there is probably more 2nd gen nitrous users so:

Hello All,

I am finally almost done my trans swap.(see sig) Once this is complete I am thinking about a large nitrous shot, possibly 2 stages, for the track and dyno untill i can afford the twins. I currently use water/meth but I am thinking like a 100hp/150hp 2 stage stacked shot. So 1st gear(maybe second) gets the first 100hp the in third the 2nd shot of 150hp spays as well as the first. Any thoughts on this or experience. See sig for current mods feel free to recomend other thngs that need to be addresed. I realize an electric fuel pump, possibly larger fuel lines, and injectors will be needed.

I don't know much about nitrous, but based on the amount of work that you have put into your truck and the engine I would say it is definately a posibility.

You do realize the differences between hitting a gasser with NO2, and a turbodiesel, right?

With your CTD, there's no danger of running lean, so don't bother running extra fuel for the nitrous... you're adding nitrous to "clean up" the extra fuel.

The most effective location is pre-CAC.

Don't spray next to the H2O/CH3OH injectors.

Start with a small pill and increase orifice size until ETs rise or dyno #s drop... obviously, the HG will appreciate/require studs, etc. that you have.

Monitor your drive pressue - if you overdrive the turbine with the nitrous, you get the opportunity to buy a better turbo!

p.s. what kind of 60' times are you getting so far?

With the old gutbag I couldnt get a good launch and shifting was slow but I was doing high 15's in the quarter with a 800lb slip tank of fuel in the bed. With the auto from BD and no xtra fuel weight I am expecting mid to low 14's with only the water/meth. The reason I mentioned the fuel uprades is because on the VE powered truck I have the water/meth basically cleans up the smoke already so I really need to bump up the fuel output to support that much spray.
