Nitrous + Meth = ???

Nitrous + Meth = ???

Anyone running nitrous with high concentrations of meth? When racing I currently run 50/50 and it works great for me. Should I cut back the meth when on the spray? Maybe 30 or 20% or none at all? The nitrous will be pre-CAC and a rather small shot (for now) just to try and light the turbo off the line and get me better 60'ers.

The only reason I am afraid of running 50% meth or higher with N2O is Meth is flammable over 50% and N2O being a oxidizer could be inviting trouble. I know I stand a good chance of lifting the head off the deck but that comes with the territory. Thanks for the replies!

from what I understand about it... those are 2 gases that you don't want to mix in your truck. Both will increase timing and if ran together you may have some nasty problems

actually its propane and meth you want to stay away from.

I was trying to find a write up on W/M and N2O but cant find it now. I do remember them saying they did not recomend mixtures above 49/51.

Easy on the meth...Water is fine.
The more fuel you run the less meth you should use....Nitrous just adds to the problem.

I think a small jet on the air horn is the best place to lite turbos off the line.....You'll be surprised how little nitrous it takes here.

I've found pre-cac to be a less responsive on the line, but more forgiving for peak hp.


I would run a second stage (boost referenced) pre-intercooler...Just enough to clear the smoke.

Running a button on a stick is a sure way to get a lean backfire.....Go boost referenced.

Just curious, but do you build boost at the line with your e brake?

I know XLR8R runs N2O and meth but I dont know if they are both together. In gassers its no big deal but I want to know for sure.

I think for now I am going to run the N2O on a pressure switch and have it kick out at 20-25PSI. I will then turn on the water/meth at that point. The meth helps out the top end a lot and its burning clean and cool at the 1320 so I doubt N2O would benefit me there anyway. I really need the turbo to light in the 60' range and hopefully a .051 shot will do it.

I just came back from a exciting day at the track. I helped a guy get his blown 4.6 Mustang from 2.7 60's to 2.0's on street tires with a few tricks. Even with no traction he was running 12.2's at 129.xx and I was running shotgun helping him out. It was his first time at the track and pretty much the first time he drove the car like that. I forgave him for having a Stang and gave him a helping hand.

No, I tried that and it was not very productive for me. I wick the throttle to maintain 8-10 PSI boost and let her rip. I have been able to get 1.82-1.90's doing it this way but after reviewing some tapes I spin a lot off the line. I am probably going to invest in some decent track tires too.

So I should run a small shot in the intake horn? I was ready to run it pre-CAC as others have suggested but it makes sense that it does not have to travel far to get to the fire. I really dont need it for cooling but more for getting the raw black goodness cleaned up.

I have made my mind up to run the N2O until 25 PSI boost then work in the meth. I dont want to blow something up running both at the same time.
