NISSAN TO BUILD A 3/4 AND I TON DIESEL?
According to 4Wheel and Off Road, when asked at a recent press event, if Nissan was planning other variations of the Titan full size trucks. Such as a 3/4 or 1 ton model, or one with a diesel, the answer was yes. ;D

I don't know how that will go over...when I think of big, tough, powerfull work trucks Toyota just doesn't ring a bell. If you want power you have to buy American.

I dunno...I saw pictures of the Nissan Titan that is coming out and it looks pretty promising. I also heard the diesel rumor. It makes sense, because Nissan and Toyota all have diesel SUVs overseas that are built pretty tough. You see them all the time on the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.

Yep. The Pathfinder Armada looks promising too. It is built on the same frame as the Titan and is a full sized SUV.

You might be thinking about Isuzu.
I think its Isuzu that makes has a hand in making the D-Max.

I would take a 4X4 yota diesel in a heart beat! ;D
Of course, I would still have the CTD. Yota would be huntin' & fishin' off-road truck....can you say Hilux? 3.0l Turbo diesel. I have heard of landcruisers with 4.2l turbo diesels....that would be nice....
alpineram - should have info on this stuff.....

I know someone who actually had a yota with a diesel. I forget the year of the truck. I helped swap the rusted box (not as rust proof as the cab) for one from TX. I also drove it. It could pull pretty good for a small truck and crawl nice offroad. It was a dog however... NT.

Those things would rust faster than a tin can in salt water. A friend had one that broke in two as he started to drive it one day. Darn thing looked like a clown truck!

If you scroll down it says "Best in class ground clearance (Based on rear axle differential)" That's prolly why they went with a D44... With anything bigger the whole truck would be "Worst in class"!
