Next mod?

I just picked up a 01 Dodge 2500 diesel with 226K on the clock. It currently has a 4in exhaust, k&n intake and a edge programmer(small black box). The rest of the truck is stock but it does have a boost/egt gauge. I dont do much towing. I was thinking of getting some of the injector nozzle tips off ebay. let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance.

What type of trans, auto or manual? Your next upgrade might be a new clutch or vb/tq. I second the fuel pressure guage!

didtch the k&N man they only filter 94.5% will dust engines, I have seen it a few times, afe is 99.4%, volant in 99.9% fyI. Being a vp truck highly recomend a better lift pump and fuel psi gauge.

The truck is a automatic. The lift pump was just replaced by the dealer, is this OK since its new or should i still look at changing it? Where would be a good place to tap for the fuel gauge when what pressure should i expect? Does anybody make a kit or should i just put one together? The K&N was just installed, I'll lookfor a better filter for it. Thanks for the advice.

with the stock carter lift pump and a programmer fuel psi will drop below 7psi under load causing injection pump to fail over time. It is verry commin for these trucks. fyi vp injection pump will run u at least 1000 bucks just for the pump then you have the install and possibly being stranded on the road. a good aftermerket lift pump is kinda spendy but will maintain your injection pump. I would recomend airdog they have lifetime garrintee and are super quiet sold here. It also comes with air water seperator filter and .5in fuel line. With the lift pump, fuel psi guage and a filter that works your truck will run for a long time.

X2. Fuel press gauge, airdog or FASS lift pump, thyen you could think about some injector nozzles. Sounds like you might have the EDGE EZ? Any more then 50 hp nozzles and you might be gettin close to too much fuel/power for your stock HY-35 turbo and auto tans though so keep an eye on gauges.

Do you guys think its worth buying just the lift pump or the one that also has a filter on it? The one without the filter looks like its just a factory replacement and the one with a filter by passes the factory lift pump and fuel filter and goes directly to the injection pump. From what i can find the one with a filter is 500 and 300 without. Fuel pressure gauge is ordered.

I'm not sure on the box but it does say edge on the side. It is currently set at 3. Does anybody know what the different setting are.

Is there anybody on here that has put together there own fuel setup if so what pump and filters are used?

Getting an aftermarket lift pump with or without filtration is a matter of personal preference. They both have their pro's and con's. You can find a fair amount of options here to build your own or not:

You probably have either an Edge EZ, or an Edge Comp. Is the box in the cab, or in the engine compartment. If it's in the cab it's a Comp, otherwise it's an EZ. You can find the instruction manuals here:

edge comp that can be re- flashed is all you need. for programming that is, they make good power. The stock auto wont hold up with sticks and that chip tho gotta build it back ya know.

I'll be ordering an air dog lift pump this week. Should i get the fp100 or the fp150 they are the same price? 499 shipped from an eBay seller, if there is a vendor with similar pricing let me know i'm all about supporting the forum. I was reading and it looks like a valve body and a converter will be fine for what i'm looking to do.
