Newbie Tire and Wheel ? for new 2500/3500...
Hello All,
I’m a Newbie to the Dodge thing and this sight so take it easy on me
I’m looking to switch to a new 08 Dodge SLT2500 or 3500 SRW. I will add leather and tunes thru the aftermarket. I currently own a 01 7.3 PSD F350 that has been a great vehicle but just feel the need for a change.
On my F350 I just needed to add a leveler kit and some slight trimming to run 35” Toyos on 18” rims. Can this be done on the Dodge or do I have to go with a full lift. I’d actually like to go with 20’s if there is a known combination. (pics would be appreciated)
Does the 3500 sit any higher?
I don’t want a big lift because I want it to fit in the garage which my F350 just barely does.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

If you're going to be towing much, get the 3500. It has a 900lb GVWR advantage over the 2500, although the only difference is an overload leaf in the rear spring pack. I'm sure a level kit and 18's or 20's with 35's will work fine. I believe once you get to 37's you need an actual lift. BTW, welcome to DTR. You won't be sorry if you do buy a Ram/Cummins.
If you look in my gallery (click on my username and then click on view public profile), you'll see my truck with H2 wheels and BFG All Terrains 35's with no level kit. There is plenty of room with 17's and 35's. ( I now have Nitto's in 285/70R/17 a 33 inch tire due to wanting a load range E tire).
Use the search function and look up other threads about running 35's, I think you will find plenty of reading material.

I stand corrected, it appear "Kiwiram is running 37's with just a leveling kit. Check this thread out, it has pics too.
