Hello everyone, well I finally got the truck I have always wanted. Just bought a Silver 2003 3500 Quad Cab SLT CTD HO LWB SRW (man that looks funny, but I guess it says it all). After driving it around the horse arena and having a rock kick up and hit the side, I went out and put the Mopar Molded Rubber Mud Flaps on it, no more of that nonsense. I also had the bed sprayed black with Rhino Lining.

So my question to all of you out there, what would you suggest as the first "enhancement" that I make to this truck? I love everything about it, so far, and can't think of anything I want to change yet. But, reading about all of the improvements that people are making on these trucks, I am excited about being able to better what I already love.

Congrats on your new truck and welcome to DTR. You'll find a lot of friendly and knowledgeable folks around here, and TDR as well. Sounds like a nice truck! I think you've made two of the first upgrades many put on their truck. I am still waiting for mine but am going to do the same two as well, although I'm going to use line-x. I also got a set of wet okole seat covers to protect the leather from my dog etc. You might consider a set of the wheel well liners everyone is talking about, I believe they're about $80 from mopar. I'm a little paranoid about my front end, so I will be having a full 3M kit installed on the front....they use a clear film called scotchcal, that covers the whole front and protects against any nicks or dings. Very nice if you do a lot of highway driving. I'd also suggest a nice set of all weather floor mats to protect your carpet. Other than that, stock up on fleetguard stratapore filters, and you're good to go!

I was going to go with line-x, but the guy here in Vegas that sprays it was a moron, and I decided I wasn't going to give him my business. The Rhino came out looking nice, I'll be setting up a website for the truck soon, and get some pictures up of it.

I went with cloth seats because I really hate leather in this heat. But since I do have 8 dogs of my own, those covers might be a good idea.

Got it, are there any real benefits to them other than the aesthetics?

Grover that is....I got the Mopar rear floor mat. Goes all the way across door to door and has the ram head in the center on the drive shaft/tranny hump...not much of a hump, but raised nonetheless. I think it is real nice and worth the money. Especially after everyone piled into my truck after hiking off of the river with wet shoes and tons of sand!

I want horns, but the wife ain't down with it.

one thing I did on my 02 and also my new 04 is to get the mopar front rubber slush mats, in addition to the carpet mats in front. I find that for regular commuting and stuff around town, the slush mats really protect the carpet mats (I put the rubber mats on top of the carpet mats) from whatever is on your shoes.

Then, when we're ready for a road trip, my wife and I take out the slush mats and enjoy the nice carpet.

If this is what lightman means by 'all weather floor mats' then I second what he said...
