Smile newbie looking for advice

I have a stock 2003 5.9 looking for very mild upgrades. I am looking at an s.s. magnaflow cat back system, An AFE stage 2 air intake, and an Edge EZ.
I am looking for a little more power and a little more mph (like everyone else out there) I don't want to void any warrenties or smoke a auto trans. ANY THOUGHTS?

The cat back is a waste of money. You already have 4" mandrel bent from the cat back.....wait a minute you dont have a cat!!!!!!

Your not going to notice any difference between the two.

Your EZ could void your warranty.

The EZ isnt a very popular because there is better cheaper safer programmers out there.

The AFE stage 2 isnt cheap and there are cheaper alternitives that perform just as good.

I bet the magnaflow is also expensive and it doesnt make sence to spend $$$ on a stainless cat back system and still kepp your factory 3.5" cat forward.

You can get better parts for alot less money.

Dont pay retail

SSS is right. A cat-back is a waste. Your '03 (like my old truck) shouldn't have one anyway... A catalytic converter, that is.

Order the MBRP replacement muffler for $189 and call it good. It hooks up in place of the stock muffler and is straight through. It's a nice sounding stealthy looking system that won't break the bank. That's what my new '07 is getting. No need to spend tons of money on an exhaust for truck that comes with the best factory exhaust of the big three.

The only other restriction is the 3.5" exhaust elbow and downpipe. With only a mild power adder, there's no reason to upgrade to 4".

I tried so many performance adders on my '03 it's hard to remember... well, not really. The EZ performed great! Just keep it on the lower settings. Otherwise you may have injector issues down the road.

Another option (better, IMO) is to go with a Quad box of some sort. More up to date, and definitely safer. It limits rail pressure better than the EZ.

An intake is a waste unless you want big power with a big turbo. Don't worry about upgrading the intake until you're pulling down the filter minder with a fresh air filter.

Then you can upgrade the intake. Do it once, do it right! The AFE stage II is a great way to go. You'll definitely hear that turbo, and it performs well. (had both a stage I and stage II)

Oh, and welcome to DTR!

First and foremost, Have the surplus money to play, and if you do want alot more HP your first mod should be a tranny upgrade. Guy's will spend thousands of dollars on stuff but when the tranny burns up from all the little mod's thats when your out of money to fix it.
