new water pump looks wrong??
sheesh.
so, I finally got the box with the new water pump ordered from autozone...
Duralast New/Water Pump
For your 1991 Dodge Truck W250 3/4 ton P/U 4WD 5.9L Turbo Diesel 6cyl
Part Number: BWP-726
and it looks weird.... the shaft of the pulley doesn't seem nearly long enough... nor do I see the weep hole I spent so much time looking for on the original.
what the heck? did I order the wrong part? did their website send me the wrong stuff?? I just went through and checked all the model stuff and VIN and everything...
Is there more than one kind of water pump for this engine?

I searched on Autozone's website and found that BWP-726 is the right pump.

A lot of times you have to stress that the 5.9L you have is the diesel. Most parts guys would assume the gasser when they here "5.9" since the older V8's were the 4.9L and 5.9L Magnums. Not sure how long ago they were first used but it's a common mistake.

The one I replaced on my 91 looked different also, but it fit right up and has been working fine for the last 5 years. It was made in China.
