I am trying to decide whether to find me a nice 2001.5 or 02 2500 or 3500 at a reasonable price or just go ahead & buy a new one. With the employee discounts & rebates, I can buy a 2500 from my local dealer at 31 & change. I just don't know whether I want to go to a new one. I sure have gotten used to knowing how to work on my 99. How would you guys compare the 02's to the 05,06's? I need to sell my truck first, not willing to trade. Thanks for any advice.

Third Gens seem to have worked out the initial kinks.....but other than body looks (I love the new styling) I'm hooked on my 02.
Lots of subtle refinements between your 99 and the 02's....and a lot less money for even a low mileage one.

Haven't looked lately but not too long ago there were many 02's out there in the 50,000 - 60,000 mile range.

And the reliability of power upgrades is still better...I think? I do know changing injectors on the 3rd Gen is a real pain...compared to ours.

I dont like the direction they took after 04.5, brothers 04 has been great, except common early model run issues - A/C line, clogged no.6 injector - and he pulls a goose around at 80 mph on 3x3
