New Turbo Recommendation...Please!!!

I am about to take the plunge to a bigger turbo. I am almost totally locked on the HTB2 62/12. I had considered the Killer B2, but Paul at HTT thought this might be more lag than I can tolerate driving on the streets of Fort Myers, FL. I actually, really do like the way my truck performs now, but it can get a little warm on top. Must have something to do with TST. Perhaps defective box

Oh well,; ready to take plunge and NEED advice. Thanks in advance. I want to order on Monday.

You can see my mods. The only future power mods are new intercooler and .......... Honestly

I dont tow, ever... I won't ever have a chance to go to a track and race. I want responsiveness and yet to cool on the top better, and perhaps then some. I can tolerate some lag. I do now with the relatively large turbine of the Super B.

I have already read until my eyes were practically dripping blood.

Try the 62/12, if it isnt quite enought HTT can make it a 62/14, then 64/12 or 14, and so on and so forth, that is why I am kinda set on HTT when I go to get one. Also make sure to ask them about the street stock 62.

Thanks. We went back and forth between the 12 and 14 cm/2. He recommended the 12 as it will give more boost and cooling at the levels I will be driving at mostly and lose only about 100 deg. cooling on the top. I am wondering about the bigger compressor the the Killer B2, or some custom combination.......

Ive wondered what a 62/12 and an A 5000 would do in a set of twins, the 62 may be a little big for a bottom turbo but I dont know, I am still new to this and Im learnin more every day. But if you are in town drivin most of the time stop light to stop light the 62/12 should be just right.

I have abandoned the idea of twins as the hardware is cost prohibitive as well as the supporting modifications. I guess the reframed question is the REAL difference between the HTT "STREET STOCK' and the "KILLER B-2" ....

anybody......

Thanks in advance.

I have pondered the same for a while and bought the HTB2 62/12 also. I havent got the chance to install it yet but cant wait. I thought it was a good choice for the driving I do and I want reliability more than big HP and torque numbers.

I like my Super B. It was inexpensive, and my fuel mileage went up about 1mpg. And from what I've read, it can handle a little extra hp as well. I haven't added a module yet though.

I am running the sps 6280 which is a 62 14,, I fully recommend going to that size right off the start,, works awesome driving around town,, and even with just a programmer on there I can get 45psi out of it,, and my egts stay nice and cool..... I am a very happy camper
