New trucks that wont sell?
What do the dealers do with the trucks that wont sell? For example: a truck is sitting on lot, price reduced, new model year shows up and it just wont sell.
I have seen this before with other vehicles that have a weird paint scheme such as a lime green jeep several years ago.

They sell them all eventually.....
I saw an interview with a lady who owned a Plymouth dealership in the early 70s. She said they had a Superbird there for years that they couldn't sell due to the fuel crunch. She ended up buying it herself and she still has it.

Generally they sit until they sell. I usually don't carry anything from the previous model year more than 6 to 9 months into the new model year. This year I am sitting well, with only 6 2006 models left. New inventory can't be sold at auction unless it is damaged, as in hail, wrecked and repaired(then it must go to auction) or flood. Even though they have no miles on them, they are sold as "used vehicles", and the previous damaged has been disclosed to us(only dealers that sell that brand are allowed to buy them). In turn, we must disclose it to the eventual buyer, have them sign a disclosure notice, then return that to the manufacturer.

Auto, Quad cab, long bed. Those three things are all that matters to me. Just trying to see if there are any other options out there other than the 07 or 06.

There are a few 05's left. Some 2500 SLT's and Laramie's, and some 3500 SLT's and Laramie's. There are only 3 or 4 04's left in the country. The 05's have $3500 dealer cash and $1000 overage inventory bonus. The 04's don't have any incentives listed anymore, as the dealers have recieved their final payment on those, which was probably $4000-$5000, but I can't remember.

Here's a thought
OOPS you said AUTO! However, I have been looking into the purchasing realm for a while - I came across this 2005 w/ 332 miles the other day and I would like it except it has a electronic dial transfer case and I want a manual shift.
