New truck
I bought a 99 4x4 QC with an auto (I wanted a manual). I know that i need to get a FP gauge, but I don't know which one I should get. I also think i want a chip. Its a dog through first gear. Which chips are actually worth the money? I don't want to spend a lot on the chip, but I want to make sure it works. what are the suggested chips out there for 60-70 hp? Will they help acceleration from 0? Someone is going to tell me to use the search i know it. I have. I just can't keep all the chips/programmers straight.

If i would you i would look at either the power puck or quadzilla has a 60hp box it works pretty good. I know before i started really modding my truck i had a quad and it was pretty nice. Have fun with the new truck!

I had the superchips and it was a nice box for my first one. There is alot out there for your power levels that you are wanting. Just search around on google or check out geno's garage.com

I have no problems buying something used. It is a used truck afterall. when I drove to my dads to pick it up i got to ride in his 06 with a Juice with attitude and holy crap was that impressive. I don't know that i need that much power. It would be nice, but I would probably just get into trouble.

ok so lets say I wanted something kind of mild right now, but may want more in the future. something that could maybe stack with something else down the road. What would you get then?

I would get the edge ez if I were you. I have had them on my last two trucks and I am also running one right now. I have never had a problem with any of them and you can stack with it. In your case you could stack a powermax 3 with it or even a smarty. But if you start stacking you will need to uprgrade the tranny and fuel system. Just my 2 cents.

So I called the only diesel shop I know of (which is 2 hours away) and they said that i definitely want the superchips. He said that i would get something like 90 horse and 220 torque. I looked online and I think he is talking about the superchips 3705. It says 70 horse and 140 torque. I asked him about the edge and he said that the superchips will have the same power, but get better mileage. Are these things any good? I haven't heard much about them before.

Superchips is not the programer of choice (by no stretch), of most on this website, where a smarty crowd, if I didn't want to spend that much $$, I would get a ez.
