New truck milage before bombing?

When's too soon for bombing? Would it be ok to get the tranny built and put a tst box at 2,500 miles?

2500 might be a tad soon. I'd at least wait till she's broken in...

What is the manufacturers recommended break in period? I've read diesels don't fully breakin til 90k, and that's a bit too long for me to wait.

Well, I had a 500mile round trip planned just to get to the 500m mark to go over 50mph, then was planning on making a 1,200mile trip, unloaded half way with a 20' trailer, then maybe 4-5k in tow back with me. But I don't see myself towing anywhere near it's max, ever.

Let the bombs fall where they may!

Start as soon as you are confident there are no little glitch's with the truck that'll require you to take it back to the dealer (saves the hassle of pulling the box off for a day, then putting it back on is all)
