New Trailer- Which Hitch?
Getting a new gooseneck 14K equipment trailer, trading my bumper pull pequea. The new trailer is a 5th wheel, and I'm trying to decide if I want that hitch or a turn over type ball. I want to be able to free up my truck bed when not towing. I'm pulling about 10,500 lbs worth of skidsteer and attachments. Would either hitch work better for that purpose?

I agree. I have used the B & W turnover ball in three different trucks pulling fifth wheel trailers, including my 38 ft toyhauler. I like not having to remove and store a fifth wheel hitch. If you decide you don't like the ball hitch B & W have a fifth wheel adaptor available that mounts on the ball.

Thanks. I think that is probably the way to go. There's a custom welding shop here that can weld up a hitch very similar to the B/W, gonna get me fixed up next week.

For $300 I would just get the real deal... Fabing is going to take quite a few hours even if you have the B&W on hand to copy. Unless they want to just spend time and supplies... I suggest getting one that you know is up to the task!
