New tires & wheels - what to do?
I just got these and now think I bit off more than I should have so dunno what to do. The problem is we took the plunge on an RV that is over twice the weight of the old one (after buying the tires & wheels) so with 3.73's , auto trans and 33.5" tall tires its just fine unloaded but I like to tow in OD at about 60-65mph which puts the R's kinda low. When shopping for tires & wheels I wasn't planning on the change in RV.
Do I leave em on and just deal with it or trade someone?

Matt,
That is the exact wheel/tire combo that I've been looking at purchasing. Any chance that you have pics of your truck, with this set-up, that you could post?
So are you down on torque because of the taller tires? You could always add more power with a module or programmer to compensate.

Any idea what the offset and backspace dimensions are on those wheels?
I'm running the Diablo Puck/Predator stack with great results so far. I'm still on the stock tire/wheel set-up so I couldn't tell ya what effect the taller tires have on the added tourque. Pulls my 25ft camp trailer without even braking a sweat, almost forget it's back there!

I had Dick Cepek 33x12.50's on different rims a few weeks ago. That tire was actually more like 32" and these Toyo's are a full 33.5 so the 1.5" is noticeable when loaded. Our old TT weighed 5K and it was fine but the new 5th is 14K gross.
These are 17x8.5 with 5 and 3/8" back space. I may find someone to trade there stock alloys for with 285's. It would only give me 100 rpm more but at 63 mph in OD I am only at 1600. Switch to drive gives me 2400 rpm.

I'm running with the same tires and gears but have only pulled about half that weight halfway across US and it was fine at 65-70, EGT's never above 1250 in OD and pulled all the hills in OD. With the weight your pulling I'd go back to stock size or maybe trade for some 4.10's.

I'm ok ratio wise for towing but wouldn't go taller. My MT's are 33.5 tall and I have 3.73's
If I find a trade or buyer I will go with 285/70's in most likely the Nitto Dura-grappler
