Re:New Rebuild,rear axle

I have taken it, chalked it up to experience and blamed some guy named Murphy. All that was before my 34 th B-day and I made a choice right then and there, never again will I take it lying down, now I just sit! Seriously though, if I am under warranty and they can't fix it, three is my lucky number. I have a lawyer on retainer just for these sorts of things. I just say sickem boys and girls(PC), and off they go. As crazy as it sounds for a Navy guy to have a lawyer on retainer, I do and it is a whole lot cheaper than you might think.

Re:New Rebuild,rear axle

Why did Dodge change axles any way. My Dad's 03 4x4 has had axle trouble from the get go. They finaly got the front axle right but, now the rear axle is making a shudering noise and grabes on turns . I love Dodge but, they should have kept the Dana axles.

That is not right! After one try I would be in the owners office screaming for a new axle. Never mind a rebuilt.

Re:New Rebuild,rear axle

once one is operated with poor set up, I think the ring and pinion are done for. Reshimming ain't gonna fix it....I am probably wrong though.

Force them to install new axel! Tell them you do not feel safe at this point. You have a big 5er to tow right?

Get it done!

Re:New Rebuild,rear axle

Go find the owner of the dealership, and tell him that you want the axle on one of the other CTD's on the lot. Tell him that he can then sell the new truck with his "professionally" re-built differential.
