The freeze/thaw/freeze weather here in Alaska made me go out and buy a set of Cooper Discovery M&S studded tires. What a difference! I'll try to find some take offs next spring and run the Coopers only in the winter. After years of driving I should know the answer to my question but... How can you tell if a tire is "out of balance" and not alignment or drive shaft problem? Did not have a "bumpy" ride at 55 mph until the new tires were installed. Haven't hit anything, so hopefully the Tire dealer will re-balance if that is what the problem is?

could be every now and then a new tire will have a broken belt which will cause it to be a little out of round. Im sure tire dealer will take care of you

I am not trying to bad mouth cooper tires, but I had a set on my older dodge. They started out riding perfect, then started doing the same thing you had mentioned. Later on had three of the tires replaced and within months, the new tires were doing the same thing. Just my experience with cooper tires; kind of p****** me off a little. The belts kept breaking in the tires. Before that, I just had the stock tires on my truck and they rode perfect.
