Just had to put in a new short block so before the new short block was put in I had a few goodies thrown at it. I had a pdr camshaft installed and 60 lb springs put in. The pump was tweaked a bit as well. My mechanic said the pump shop calibrated stuff and had a new plug put in for further rack travel or something like that. Also the pistons in the new short block were different from the stock ones. The fuel bowl was much more open. Had no "lid" on the bowl. Are these an updated design or something?

sounds like marine or industrial pistons. the marine pistons are very high dollar, they have the steel inserts for the rings to run against. the industrial pistion i have seen look like marines without the inserts.
