New Member From Western Pa

Hello all, im from Pa about 15 Miles North of Pittsburgh, I have a 2004.5 Ram 2500, Cummins 325/600, and NV5600 6spd, with Banks 6 Gun, among a few other things, such as after market exhaust, and air intake. I have 94000 miles, on this truck, and recently, had to put, in a new clutch, I installed a South Bend twin disk clutch kit, and a hyd clutch kit from XDP. But approx 3 weeks prior to the clutch failure, my boost pressure had fallen from 35psi, down to 20 psi, and I have been noticing some lag, I also have an error code 2150 flashing. I am thinking about installing a new BD single B turbo, and a FASS system, but need some opinions, on that. In November 2006 I dynode the truck, and it made 415hp, with 795flbs torque, and my boost gauge was always toping out at 35 psi plus. I love this truck, up until this point, it is has been bullet proof, also I have never had the EGT above 1100 degrees. It is a h**l of a lot better than my prior mistake 2000 Power Junk, Found On Road Dead, and would eat cam shaft sensors. PS if ya didn't realize it "I HATE FORD DIESEL TRUCKS". What I like about this ram, is it's my daily driver, and I would like to get the HP into the 500, range, and have the torque into the 900 to 1000 flbs. I need some advice as what I should do. I know to build power, you got to do more than Just, stick a programmer in, and add a after market turbo. That why I am going to put a FASS system in it, but nee advice about which one to get.--------- Please help if ya can thanks a lot

Welcome to the DTR!

Here's the list of codes...

http://wiki.dieseltruckresource.com/wiki/Computer_codes

But I did not see 2150. Where are you getting this error from? Did you do the code check with the key?

Post this up in the third gen performance section, you'll get more of a response.

You're on the right track with your mods, ditch the 6 gun and grab something else... my vote is going to be with the smarty, but make an informed choice before you buy.

Any questions, just ask.

Fill your sig out too, it'll show everyone what you have every time you post...

HTH..

MADHAT

thanks for the reply, I did update my sig, and will let ya know for sure about the error code, tonight. I have also been thinking about getting rid of the Banks Stuff, but I have never seen anything about a SMARTY system, what the difference between them? and were could I get a SMARTY from? The only programers I have delt with are Banks, Bully Dog, and Hyper Tech. Also what is you imput on a FASS system, and should I get the one from FASS, or some of the other ones listed, just asking. I already got the BD single B turbo in, just not put it on yet. Thank for the quick reply, even though your one of them USMC people, I will still trust your advice lol lol.. as a few of my friends say "only ONE owns the night".... Im sure you know that....

No problem.
Check out this thread for how I get my codes...

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...s-t224833.html

Banks is usually a good quality product, but their power is very safe, not too aggressive... The smarty will knock your socks off. You can get one here at the DTR store, but regardless of where you get it, make sure it's an authorized dealer, or whoever you buy it from bought it from an authorized dealer... don't buy it off e-bay.
Here is a link to their page, I have PoD, but you could just get a regular S-06. PoD is 'Power on Demand', you can adjust it from 00-99 (pretty much a percentage of that level software's power)
http://www.madselectronics.com/Smarty06PoD.html

Again, not trying to shove you to a smarty... we get accused of being on the smarty band wagon quite a bit, but I'm pretty partial to it between the two I've had.

No problems with FASS, I have an Air Dog 150 and like it pretty well. Built well, great customer service.

Check out the DTR store, and before you buy anything, Call Lary and do a price check... let him know you're a member, and I sent ya... some days he's in a good mood and will give you an extra discount, sometimes he adds a little to the price for those that know me...

even though your one of them USMC people
I'll remember that...

Nice to hear from you other Dodge Diesel people, from the Snow Belt of Pa. madhat I think im going to go with the, Smarty (POD) Power on Demand, and Airdog II 165GPH, I am going to order them this week, I already got someone that wants my banks 6 gun, I just have one question, is the Smarty able to be stacked with another controler. Madhat are you near Anderson Co South Carolina?? or is Beaufort Closer to Sumpter County SC, I have family that lives in Anderson Co, my uncle is a Lt with the Anderson Co Sheriff Office. Thanks again for all the help, so far this seems like a great site, just wish i would have joined sooner...

I'm not close to either... I'm about 45 minutes north of Savannah, Ga, bottom south east corner of the state.

I stack my smarty with an MP-8, it gives me added rail pressure. The other good stack with a smarty is a TST, from what I understand. There are a few people stacking a smarty and an edge, but I have not heard a lot about them.

As long as the box you stack the smarty with alters the signals post ECM, you're cool. I don't think that you can stack it with a Bully Dog, as it re-programs the ECM.

Any questions, let me know. We've almost got the same truck, I've probably been there.
