New (to me) Truck!!
Hello all, new to DTR and CTD with my '01 I just picked up w/21k miles on her (yes she looks brand new). I love it already, with a 50 mile daily commute, and 22.3mpg on the highway!!!
I am not a stranger to a wrench, but am to a turbo diesel. Honestly, lately I pay someone else 'cause I can't find the time, which brings us to my stupid question (again no time to look into it, figured you folks may already know):
I park my truck right ouside my office window, and have noticed a small mark under the truck. At first, I figured it was the A/C, but today, I rode to work without the A/C, and still got the small puddle. I checked it, and it is clear water (no smell, not slippery, no hint of coolant). So I ask, any clues? It appears just inside and behind the passenger side tire. My guess is condensation dripping from a hot turbo??? It has been quite humid lately. I always forget to look when I get home, and at work, I don't really want to crawl around on the parking lot in a suit/tie.
I'm not worried, but in the learning process. I've been through the owners manual, am ready for the voltage drop in the cold, and am starting to get used to the belt "chirp" when I shut her down...but this had no entry in the manual...

If you're using the HVAC on any position other than Face Only(vent), the compressor should still be cycling, hence, the puddle of water behind the right front tire.
Humididididity in the Baltimore/Washington area?........say it ain't so.....
BTW, Welcome to the site.

Interesting.
I can't imagine any moisture coming off the turbo as water boils at 212* F and my pre turbo temps are higher than 300*.
The location of the water puddle and the clear condition of the same would still indicate condensation from the AC though.
