New long block under warranty.
As some of you may recall my buddy was towin a snowmobile trailer and heard a pop sound the truck started missing and wasn't runnin right. I made a thread called "need help".
Anyways dodge said it was a dead #5 because of an injector. Now they have to replace the engine and he is getting a new long block because it's too far gone. The only mod he had was smarty JR. towing on the "tow" setting.

We will see where this goes.....If this truck would have had a bullydog, quadzilla, banks, or any other programmer on it, it would be the programmers fault and you would get a hundred....That (insert) programmers trash get a smarty. I bet you don't get that now.

even if the Smarty Jr had something to do with it, which it likely didn't..... it can't be blamed. The person using it has control of their foot and the installation of a programmer and how it's used.
LrdChaos: that's because those other programmers have time and time again ruined good running trucks to the point complete recalibrations had to be done to the ECM. You can probably count how many times that's happen with a Smarty on 2 hands

However. There are some freaks out there. I have been through 5 transmissions and 4 sets of injectors. As well as the truck was in the shop for 3 monthes with 13000 miles on it. i babied the truck to the point that none of my friends would even ride with me. Every time it broke down i made a great effort to make it that much better. I sold it. It was a constant money pit. I finally got a fantastic (read awesome) trans built by john isaacs as well as a set of injectors by donm. But, i still had problems with a crazy hit and miss rough idle, insane amounts of blow by (would blow the oil filler cap out of your hand when running). I just got fed up with it. I convinced my wife for 4 years that I had bought a million mile motor and purchased the truck with every available option that was offered because "this is gonna be the last truck I own". Much to my surprise, I got sick and tired of every few months it was in the shop getting this one last bug worked out. I'm through with the common rail, I now own an 07 hemi. its got a 5 inch lift kit, 35 inch tires and is absolutely beautiful. I'm also on ebay and craigs list everyday to find the early 12 valve that i dream of. I can make lots of power, lots of looks, and most important LOTS OF MilAGE
