Hey guys, My 160K 97 feels like a BRAND NEW TRUCK..My drivers side seat was collapsing and all ripped and stained, the vinyl on the side was torn up, the carpet was black and smelled awful. I got it all redone. I had the seat rebuilt, with new material, new OEM vinyl and OEM seat material. The carpet is brand new, I went with a darker then stock Charcoal. Everything inside was steam cleaned including the header and it was detailed. It looks and feels amazing in there! It's a shame I might have to sell this year with a baby on the way...but I'm gonna enjoy it now!!!! what ya think?

Looks good! Was the price to get the seats done pretty reasonable? I want to get my driver seat redone as it tore on the edge and the padding is just starting to come out.

That looks great. Tell me about the carpeting. Did the upholstery shop make that up? It looks more like a molded Dodge unit, specifically made for that model truck.

It wasn't super cheap, right about $1000. For the OEM fabric, the carpet, mats and labor. The seat frame needed to be rebuilt as well. The fabric was a molded version and I went with the mid grade. Which is nicer then OEM, but not the top of the line but in my 160K truck it was perfect. The difference is night and day. Driving it is a pleasure now. This week I am changing the stock radio that cuts in and out for an aftermarket one that has been in every other car i've owned, and using the ashtray as a dock for my iPhone. Which will act as a charging station as well as an imput into the radio. So I can just open the ash tray, and dock my phone. The clean interior makes it so much better to drive. Now just some new shocks, some new links and steering work and my baby should be good for another 100K. Which is good, because I'm broke and need her to last. Was going to sell for a smaller truck, but I hate getting new trucks because they are nice for 4 months, and then it's just another pick up. Unlike a lot of new truck buyers, I use it for what it was designed for. I can't stand seeing a 50K quad cab long bed diesel pick up, sparkling clean towing a jet ski.....but my 10K$ 5 speed carries 1.5 tons of gravel in the bed like a champ.....
I was hesitant when i did it, and the wife was asking if it was worth spending that much on a old truck...but it def was....
Problem now is i have to fix some brake and steering issues. I've already started the nickle and dime stuff, new door pins, tailgate cables, fuel lines..Next spring the bed gets a roll in Liner, and the frame gets POR15. If I can control the rust and make it safe. I will drive this truck for ever.

Rubber is good cause you can mess it and clean it, but i just like carpet, I drive the truck a lot and it's nice having carpet. Thats why I went darker then OEM, so it didnt stain...Hell the old carpet had 160K on it and was still in one pece..
