New G-56?????

I test drove a 6.7 litre before I bought my new 5.9 07. The manual tranny felt so much better than my G-56 in my 06... Salesman said they had changed the gearing a bit in response to customer complaints of the G-56 being to low geared.

After driving my new 5.9 all week with the G-56 All is well and this trans seems to be higher geared as well. When did the switch happen???? FOr all 07 models???

There's been a few threads about it. Basically the 2007.5 trucks with 6.7L g56 trans have a higher .76 ratio for 6th gear while the 2006 and 2007 trucks with 5.9L g56 have a lower .79 ratio for 6th gear.

whats your RPM's at 70mph? I read the new G56 would be about 2200 rpm give or take 50.

I would like to see a poll on speed RPM for the new G56?

Why does the 07 5.9 6spd feel really sloppy compaired to my 6spd in my 02? the ranch i ride for has a 07 5.9 with the 6spd and the clutch just seems weird like its all at the top and "clunky" were as my 02 its about the middle and smooth. is it just cause i drive the 02 more?

My clutch in the 07 is real soft thats for sure, but mine shifts smooth as glass. Not once ounce of 'Clunk" to it!! I also have a 96 5 speed and an 02 6 speed. They all feela little different but they are all smooth. Everyone who drives my new truck says they are scared to break the clutch pedal it is so light and smooth.. LOLOLOL

I do believe at 7o I am turning around 2200, I think somehow I got one of the new G-56's.. WIll test it tomorrow, it is DEFINATELY higher geared than the 06 was!!

Say, do you REALLY need to keep it under 50 MPH the first 500 miles you TOW??? IS this for the rear gears??? I puleed 200 miles tonight and kept it as close to 60 as possible to avoid being run over!
