Exclamation new fuel pressure guage instaled, is my lp going out?

pressure spikes to 10 to 15 at start up then dropes to around 2 or 3 at idle, when i give it some juice it pegs out at zero, is my lp going?
also i checked the accuracy of the guage with anouther and seems fine also im running the fuel to the guage so no issolator issues.

Yes its bad. I just installed mine today and was getting 8psi at idle, 5 psi at crusie, and 0 at WOT. I am running my fuel pressure gauge from the test port straight to the gauge with a needle valve for safety. So what are the recomendations for a fuel pump replacement. I am on a budget.

when the truck is on but not started the psi shoots to 16 and then the pump shuts off, then i start it and it shoots to 15 then goes to .5 then pegs at 0 when given gas. do i have an electrical prob.? it seems the pump works if it does that.

Well on mine its a mechanical. When I initally turn the key on to wait for the light to go off it will jump to 15 psi and then when the pump stops it drops to 0psi. When i get the truck started it will idle 8psi. any go juice and it drops to 5psi. Cruises at 55,60,70mph at 5psi. WOT it drops to 0psi. I am trying to figure out wich way to go on the replacement of my lp.

Anyone got a part number for the holly blue? Does autozone carry them? They had a factory replacement for 159.99. I waas hoping the holly was cheaper.

Awall...i noticed in your sig...you state 2 holley blues...is that 2 inline or you have had to add 2 because the stock gave out?

the only reason i ask is because 24psi with 2 LP's isnt the greatest...based upon the idea that each is only putting out 12psi...or some combo of 24..imagine if you only had 1.

as well...while i payed 350 for the GDP at first....it includes bigger lines, less restrictive banjos relocation hardware...etc....the thing i like about it is....if for some ungodly reason my walbro pump does take a dump on me....a replace ment pump 392-gsl is only 109.99 and i am right back in the game at 22 psi..

where as a holley replacement is the same price and i get 12 psi....and most often you gotta run 2 inline to match the pressure i get with one.

not a knock on you specifically....just using your sig as an example....to give food for thought for others.....

yea a fass is nice..but 600 bucks....YEA right, i could go through 3 pumps (which shouldnt happen ever) and still be under the price.

if i ever do go else where for a fuel system it will be a RASP or the new system from GDP the FUEL BOSS...both are belt driven mechinal and govern fuel psi by RPM of the motor...so the higher the RPM the more the pump provides...

just my thoughts and not a KNOCK on you AWALL by any means....

if you must drive, which i and others would strongly reccommend not doing...make sure to add a lubricity to the fuel....ie...ashless 2 stroke...1oz of 2stroke to 1gal of fuel....

it sounds like you both are getting pressure....just not enough...well counter act that low flow with a lube to keep the IP cool...dodge and cummins states that positive flow is enough we all know better....

i didnt know it but i was driving around probally for weeks with NO dead pedal and NO check engine lights @ around 4psi @ idle and i bet 0 psi under throttle, i didnt have guages yet....my mechanic said i probally saved the IP by adding 2 stroke, it along with the low pressure was engouh to keep the IP, while unhappy, alive.

you can get a walbro set up from wideopendiesel.com they have everything you need to install the pumps for just under $200 and it runs 1/2 inch lines. I got my walbro pump off of ebay new for $100. Go to the parts store and get a 3/8 in line filter for before the pumps and you will be good to run. I got this setup easy to install and easy to adjust the pressure. Its basicly the same as the glacier diesel setup just cheaper!!!!!!!!!
